2018 CQ WW WPX CW has concluded. Conditions were very good the entire weekend, making it a fun time on the radio, even though we are sitting at solar minimum. 20m was the workhorse, with 40m providing much needed 6 point QSOs.
15m came to life (sort of) and provided some EU and JA contacts. Not as many Qs as the guys in W6, but it was good to at least hear the band open somewhere.
Now that the dust has settled, these are raw USA scores as posted on 3830:
My goal was to make the top ten USA box, which I missed by one spot. That said, it looks like a top west coast SOAB HP score based on the above posted raw scores. WPX CW is always very competitive attracting the best ops from around the world. It’s always fun to get on and compete with everyone else.
The station played very well, and the new JK404C 40m antennas did a superb job. I felt loud, and given the long daylight hours, felt 600+ Qs was pretty good.
